On the way out, we asked the host (shift change?), about the hotel's planned renovations. Luckily, the drinks were prepared to our liking and there was an amazing piano player who made our visit enjoyable. I know it's hard to find staff nowadays, but this was totally unacceptable for a hotel as prominent as Charleston Place. When my wife ordered a Martini with "olives on the side", he looked at her as if she had two heads. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. Once inside the impressive lobby of the Charleston Place Hotel, we made our way to the hostess station and despite there being plenty of tables available, still had to give our name and phone number for some inexplicable reason before being seated.
We picked them up at their hotel, then found a convenient parking spot around the corner. chose to have drinks at the THOROUGHBRED CLUB, Charleston Place Hotel's lobby bar, then dine at the Peninsula Grill across the street. Not wishing to repeat those two disappointing experiences, we.
